About Raga Sangrah

A Treasury of Ragas

रागसंग्रह — Born from a lifelong love of Carnatic music

Raga Sangrah was born from a vision to make the profound depths of Carnatic classical music accessible to everyone — from curious beginners to seasoned practitioners — through the power of modern digital tools.

Our Story

Raga Sangrah — रागसंग्रह, meaning "Treasury of Ragas" — was founded by Jags Design (Valadi K Jaganathan), a creative studio with roots in product design, multimedia, and emerging technologies. Our founder's passion for Carnatic music — combined with decades of experience in design, technology, and digital media — made it clear that the world needed a truly comprehensive, interactive, and community-powered platform for this magnificent tradition.

The platform represents a meeting point between ancient musical wisdom and modern digital tools. The authentic progression from basic swaras through advanced compositions reflects real-world guru-shishya pedagogy, ensuring that the depth and nuance of the tradition are preserved even as the medium evolves.

Our Mission

We believe Carnatic music is one of humanity's greatest intellectual and spiritual achievements. Our mission is threefold:
