Meaning (from PCM Book 1)

O Ramachandra, you are the beacon of your dynasty, Raghuvamsha. You watch over the devas and give delight to Sita. You vanquished Ravana and you fulfil the desires of your devotees. Lord, please protect me.

Pedagogical Note

Bilahari is an important raga — hexatonic in ascent (audava), sampoorna in descent. The 'Rē rē' opening is a characteristic phrase of Bilahari.
